Tandara Brown Swiss took all before it at International Dairy Week on Tuesday.

The Dingee, Vic, stud won the grand champion cow, the senior champion cow, the reserve senior champion cow, the best udder and the champion intermediate cow.

Tandara's team of 10 animals comprised two heifers and eight in-milk animals and took home the premier breeder and premier exhibitor awards.

The grand champion cow Tandara Jolt Sarajevo 55 has won the top award at International Dairy Week twice before.

For owner Ben Govett 11-year-old Jolt Sarajevo is a special cow.

He first started working with the cow as a young calf.

The family bred the champion from a cow that is now an 18-year-old retired cow on their farm.

Mr Govett said the champion had a lot of breed character and was strong.

"She gives a power of milk, she's the best milk cow we've ever had at the farm," he said.

"She's a fantastic cow to work with.

"I haven't had a cow anywhere that's so fantastic to work with.

"She is such as calm cow to work with; there's a lot of trust between us."

The family is milking 250 cows, with about 60 per cent of the herd Brown Swiss.

Mr Govett said he liked the Brown Swiss for their longevity, high components and being an easy cow breed.

Judge Brian Kelroy, United States, was impressed with the cow's strength and age.

"She's a tremendous cow whose had seven calves," he said.

"Even though the reserve won the best udder award, this cow has good feet and legs, more frame and more width."
